English schools, the're a wee bit different than what I know back home, but today I got the chance to forge a new path.
Protocol (the agency I work for) are looking to expand and one of the locations they have moved into is Weston Super Mare a small town in Somerset. Today I became the first teacher they have ever sent to Herons' Moor Community School in Weston. My year five class was not the patchwork quilt of cultures as the Bristol schools tend to be, but they were instead a lively class who have been at the school since its inceptionin 2005. And it really is a modern school not like anything I have seen either at home or abroard. I must have done alright because I'm back on Thursday and I'll take a photo so you can see what I mean. In the meantime it's back to Bristol tomorrow.
It's nice to be working and even nicer to be paid in pounds, although I find the whole system thorughly confusing as after tax and then after claiming my expenses I tend to get more than I should have received in the first place, go figure!
Anyway the week is young and we are heading to South West Wales this weekend so stay tuned in for more. Au revoir
