The Week that was and is .....

Well, an interesting week just been, its main highlight for us has to be the good news on the results from mums recent tests following her surgery and finding out that recovery is the only thing left to do (although not a quick process I know) no chemo, no radiotherapy - that has to be the best thing that has happened. We love you mum :)

The rest of the week has been OK too, great in that there has been work, although having to get up at 5.45am to drop How to the train station in Newport has been a bit so-so, but work is great. Now has 3 days next week with the agency in Cardiff and closer to home, Newport, so that is excellent. On Thursday we are off to Bristol to fly to Montpellier, France which we are really looking forward to, flying Ryan Air which I think will be interesting - certainly they charge for everything and I am wondering if we will arrive and they will ask us if we want to pay the extra 20 pound for a seat each or are we happy to stand in the aisle as booked, but we shall see and it is only a relatively quick flight - just go to the toilet before we leave rather than pay to go onboard.

But tomorrow we are off to the vibrant town of Fishguard - see website below, now looking at the website I am a little intrigued as it is very much what we see on TV in say Doc Martin ... or is it , apparently where they filmed Moby Dick many years ago (1950 something), and a more recent movie with Clive Owen (maybe that is why I took notice). But will be great and they must have decent fish and chips as it is a port/fishing town ... please have decent fish and chips, it actually is supposed to be a lovely place and we are visiting friends of Dave and Clare's there so looking forward to a great day - we are on the train which is easier.

Have also booked another trip to Belfast this time, great Ryan Air 1 pound flights so 8 pound for all four of us to travel there for 3 days - hotel about 118 for 3 nights, can't beat that really even with conversion. Looking to fill in the other free weekends with similar deals - then come Boxing Day we will be heading into London, stay there the night then disappear into Europe until we reappear in London again around 5-6th January, then unfortunately our return to NZ is on 10 January - if reading this and you are looking forward to seeing us again .... then fantastically our return to NZ is on 10 January, Yay .... am sure by then we may just about be ready although not sure yet, we are half way through and things are coming together nicely. Couldn't have a nicer place to be in with the best neighbours on both sides of us, kids loving school, work coming in (me too working again soon), travel, OK there is the weather cooling down but hey can't have everything and there is always layering and very cool boots and coats to buy.

Well that is all for now, what a 3 months it has been .... lets go for another 3.

Love to all, especially Mum and Murray :) Mum for her strength, courage and good recovery and Murray for being there and just being the perfect person be there for mum

  1. Wow - have you really been there for 3 months already? That seems amazing! You are certainly making the most of it, and making the most of Ryanair too! Lol. I actually found them to be pretty good. I hope that Fishguard comes up with the goods re the fish and chips! Cheers. x
